Wednesday January 28th

The comic:

But your checking account balance changes every time you get paid, or finally finish paying off something...

Obviously, Pluggers get paid diddly squat and never finish paying off anything and will work until they die.

Ok, I really don't know what to say about this one. It seems so stupid, yet sad at the same time.

Hey wait. He has a job! And this is not a classic. Not sad, not sad at all.

What does he mean by emphasizing "THIS century?"

Be very afraid future generations--Pluggers are immortal(!)

i think the main point here is that pluggers are, in fact, really stupid.

why else would they not have saved any money for retirement?

Pluggers don't believe in no 401k or some Roth IRA thingamajigger. According to some past Plugger segment, all Pluggers have to look forward to in Retirement is working as a Greeter in a Wal-Mart.

Pluggers will live as long as there is something to complain about. Namely everything that they don't participate in, especially new-fangled things.

P.S. My word verification for this post was dangerously close to the word "goatse". Just thought you should know.

Joe - Pluggers still think it's the 20th century, and probably expected to drop dead when 1999 rolled around. (That awful Prince song, you know.)

After I wrote this, I was watching Golden Girls and Rose's boyfriend Miles had bad news. His doctor said he could live to 90, but he only had enough money to live to 80!

I immediately thought of this.

If they live too long, xy, they'll have to take so much money out of their mattress they'll no longer be able to get a good night's sleep.*

Crisis!

*Not that they do anyway with all the noise you young folk make.
