Monday February 21st

The comic:

Only Pluggers lose things! Of course I remember where I put something, I'm not a Plugger!

I know where my 2011 organizer is, I just don't want to use it.

Friday July 9th

The comic:

Ha ha, he has trouble walking!

Heartwarming? No.

Funny? Hell no, especially to those in that situation.

Familiar? For some people.

From Reed Hoover? Yes. Publish it!

Monday May 10th

The comic:

Ha ha, Pluggers wear their pants up high!

This is what you kick off "classics week" with? Reed Hoover is a hack, but Brookins is worse.

Thursday February 4th

The comic:

Now, I live in Memphis, but I'm no native.

And I like Elvis's music fine. I'm not such a fan of the die hard fans, mostly because the cameras and big groups come out in August for the anniversary of his death. In Memphis. The man was born in January. It's usually quite nice in January - no one dies from heatstroke! (This has happened. In August. To a fan.)

I pride myself on having never been to Graceland.

Point number two - I am no art snob. I like cheesy movies, silly books, and a range of posters because they're "pretty".

So velvet Elvises do not bother me.

This is the exception.

Why can't we have a Plugger Elvis?* Why is he human?

Also, since it's from Reed Hoover, I feel like he's reveling in his "I have no taste!" moment and being a right snot.

*No cracks about his weight. That is definitely tacky.

Thursday January 28th

The comic:

The Plugger knows how to surf the web? Duuuuuuuuude, freak me out! Or they call their grandkids and ask them to do it, which is no fun. (Click there, where I'm pointing! God, I'll do it myself!)

Pluggers are hypochondriacs. Pluggers have the money and knowledge to use the internet and the money to go to a doctor.

Wow.

Pluggers are elite!

I have chronic pain and I have had other illnesses since I was 13. (Thyroid. It's now out, and I have to take medication everyday or die.) I refuse to look medical stuff up online. If I have a concern, I talk to a professional either over the phone or in the office/pharmacy. The internet can be helpful if you're not prone to hypochondria or are relatively healthy, but when it's ongoing, eff that nonsense. Besides, according to WebMD, I should be dead!

Monday January 11th

The comic:

Good for him.

(There are fashion trends for cars? This was sent in by a man from Texas, and we all know Pluggers are walking stereotypes, so he would know about that.)

I'm surprised his car looks that good - previous car days have showed decrepit POSs running on a whim and a prayer.

Of course, it merely looks good, that doesn't mean it can move on its own.

Saturday December 5th

The comic:

Pluggers name their POS cars.

Ha?

I wonder if he got paid by Ford for this. (Ford is all American and they've got Mike Rowe!) I say the drawing is bad - and it is - but I can't draw this well. Think xkcd, but without that level of skill. (Straight lines are beyond me, even with a guide.)

Saturday October 24th

The comic:

I'm glad they have their own barber shops.

And who knew Pluggers were so vain? Eyebrow trimming! Well, we discovered they were preppies this week, so who knows.

And yes, old men have hair in their ears. Isn't that the funniest thing you've ever heard? (If you can hear through all that hair.)

Monday, October 12, 2009

Monday October 12th

The comic:

Where's the supposed funny?

And Pluggers are terrible people, no imagination. OR it didn't come out of the blue, she'd been obsessing over it for a long time, getting more and more bitter and crazy that all she sees are the chores he will never do.

One of them will end up dead, but who'll have to do the cleaning? She will.

Saturday, September 19, 2009

Saturday September 19th

The comic:

Why would a Plugger have a cell phone?

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Thursday September 17th

The comic:

Your collection of two stuffed animals?

And I thought Pluggers were already retired.

Here's a nifty fact - once my mom has worked 20 years for Shelby County Schools, she can retire and get $200 a month. They're so generous! Or she can keep working. Wonder what she'll choose?

Maybe your retirement wouldn't be so uncertain if we were a socialist communist hellscape, but you know, pull yourself up by your bootstraps so we can then use them to tie you to a weight and put you under water.

You heard me.

Good night.

Friday, September 11, 2009

Friday September 11th

The comic:

Pluggers hate both their children and their grandchildren.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Tuesday September 8th

The comic:

You're a Plugger if you forget to .... wait... Plugger children in college? Kya?

I mean, some of my fellow students (never me) act like Pluggers, but the idea of them finishing middle school is hard to swallow.

Besides, some people have a baby on board and a kid in college at the same time - my uncle, for example. One of his kids is college age, the other was born last month. (Two in between.)

Pluggers like to hold on to the past (baby on board sign) and are delusional about the present (State U? Couldn't make it Plugger U?).

Saturday, July 18, 2009

Saturday July 18th

The comic:

She's so deluded - she's been married to him most of her life (shotgun wedding after graduation, ya know) and she still thinks he gives a damn about her wants!

HI-larious.

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Thursday May 14th

The comic:

I wouldn't trust a Plugger with my engine! Have you seen the clunkers they drive?

Oh, and blah de blah non-Pluggers are fancy pants who use their SUVs for play, not work. Because non-Pluggers are richer and snootier than Pluggers.

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Saturday May 9th

The comic:

Wait.

What the hell is going on here? They're dressed up and using valet parking? Is this the right comic?

Also, maybe if your truck wasn't such a heap of junk, maybe other people could drive it. I thought Pluggers were mechanical?

I'd think they'd be like Hank Hill, worried about another man touching her.

Pluggers... and valet parking! This doesn't feel like an hallucination...

Monday, April 6, 2009

Monday April 6th

The comic:

And now they're yanking them out and sending them in to Cash For Gold!

There are so many things I don't like about this drawing - the patient's teeth, the patient's eyes, the dentist's teensy eyes, the dentist's lack of teeth.

I think the patient's teeth are the weirdest - if those are dentures, they should be, you know, out. And if not, he's a Plugger, he can't afford good teeth!

The dentist's eyes are creeping me out. Can he see over his snout?

Also, this looks very familiar. I think it even had a similar stupid caption. I wonder if Reed is copying himself or another Plugger, or if this is just a second dentist-related Plugger in 2 years.

Sunday, March 15, 2009

Monday March 16th

The comic:

Just put them on. If you still can't see, they're not yours. If you can, voila, you found them.

I mean, honestly, this is a problem?

No, this got published for the damn "wordplay" in the caption. Oh, since it says "reigns" shouldn't one of the Pluggers be a horse for that extra touch of hilarity?
